PASC is the Academy-recognized body responsible for selecting Pakistan’s official submission to the International Feature Film Award.
Purpose
The Pakistan Academy Selection Committee organizes Pakistan’s annual selection process for one eligible film to be submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for consideration in the International Feature Film category.
The Committee seeks to recognize films that reflect the artistic excellence, diversity, complexity, innovation, and vitality of Pakistani stories and storytellers.
Principles
PASC’s process is independent, filmmaker-led, artist-centered, confidential, and governed by the Academy’s rules for the relevant awards cycle.
PASC operates independently of government, political, commercial, or institutional interference, and affirms the importance of artistic freedom and freedom of expression.
The names of current selection committee members are not published before Academy approval.
